Christian Commentator's Purpose

Christian Commentator aims to consider and comment on contemporary Christianity from a biblical perspective. Christ, founder of true Christianity as opposed to the currently pervasive counterfeit Churchianity, stated unequivocally that not all Christ-professing individuals or institutions will be genuine. False prophets and fake Christianity will abound, worldwide.

Christian Commentator will thus consider and comment on counterfeit Christianity – institutions more correctly termed “Churchianity” – the ministers and congregants of which are not true disciples of Christ. They are members of a “church”-- a type of spirit-seeking and spirit-bound club. Such have existed from ancient times and are fraught with error and deception. Whether ancient or contemporary; theologically reformed, re-reformed, or de-formed; whether Presbyter ruled, methodically structured, or congregationally managed organisations, denominations or sects – these will abound in the “latter days”.

Christian Commentator will examine some of the “Church Fathers” responsible for all the chaos and confusion -- and their misbegotten modern broods.

Christian Commentator follows no structured historically based curriculum. We’re running an informal blog not a rigidly formalised academic seminary. We seek to please neither men nor organisations. Being liberated from all men and institutions, we are freely bound to Christ. Hence we speak freely from the bible.

Christian Commentator will cover many terrains of human experience and endeavours, hopes and passions, teachings and morals. Thinking persons may be challenged to re-examine long-held beliefs and theories. Others will mock and march right on to a destiny they may not theologically anticipate nor welcome.

However, we hope that in the process of time we will awaken the spirit of examining, searching, and proving – as did the ancient Bereans – the Scriptures [at that time it was what we call the Old Testament] in an unbiased spirit of truth-seeking.

Christian Commentator will make every effort to present material – thoughts, ideas, doctrine, moral instruction, wisdom and motivation for a success orientated spiritually based life – as preserved in the sacred Word of the Eternal Creator.

Whether it be in labour or leisure we hope that with us you will be able to experience your earthly existence as seen by the Creator of creation – even if that creation is only you! We will give our “heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised [disciplined and humbled, cf. JFB] therewith” [Eccl 1:13].

We’ll consider the work which God gave man to do under the sun, with the Logos, the WORD of God, as our guide and moral matrix. We will consider global politics, pandemics and economics, international conflicts and religion, modern morality, ethics and philosophies – and much more.

Scripture being our constant guide, denominational dogmatism is pushed aside. With Christ as the Captain of our salvation we’ll sail through life’s troubled and stormy seas, seeking clarity, striving with hope to live the good and Godly life. We will explore the elements which constitute truth, wisdom, understanding, and knowledge worth knowing. We’ll ask challenging questions -- challenging and questioning the church traditions which reject the word of God [Mt 15:3-6].

We’ll examine the Scriptures to find appropriate, God-grounded answers. We’ll delve into the treasury of scriptural knowledge to discover the ultimate goal of life. And explore Paul’s powerful insights and expositions on law and grace. Further, the essentials of church history will be examined to expose the hoaxes perpetrated in the name of Christ; how they are perpetuated and by whom. We may therefore, as Paul did, call out some false prophets and expose their shenanigans, their greed, their lies, and their gargantuan blasphemies.

Shibboleths, clichés, and holy cows of wayward Churchianity deserve close scrutiny. Pickwickianism and pompous philosophic vraisemblance parading proudly as Christian intellectualism should be unmasked wherever and whenever encountered in the parade of priestly, pastoral, and prelatic pretentiousness.

We encourage everybody to, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Word, and Christ’s faith – the essential elements to make us wise unto and secure our eternal salvation [2 Tim 3:15] – examine, Berean-like, the scriptures and information presented in this Blog.

We trust all Christian Commentator readers will enjoy the unfoldment of a spiritually stimulating discerning, learning, and growing experience. We’re living in exhilarating, electrifying, and sensational prophecy-fulfilling times. Watch with us as future history unfolds before our eyes! Anticipate with us the coming of Christ and prepare yourself thereunto.

Along the way we’ll also learn something about living, loving, and leading.

Living through Faith

Loving through Law

Leading through Wisdom

Wisdom, understanding, and example -- each spiritual life-force cascading into and integrating with the other.

The revelation and unfolding of true knowledge has one supreme spiritual origin leading to life eternal, that is Christ, and He is the ultimate pursuit of Christian Commentator. [See, inter alia, Acts 17:28, Col 1:19 and Eph 1:23.]

Unlike ancient Israel we don’t have to succumb to the temptations, the trials, the testing, and the torturous troubles, only to eternally fail. Though we face an opposition more sinister and venomous than copper colored serpents and swarthy scorpions, we need not fear. Though we face, daily, the fiery attacks of an angry, hate-filled, murderous, devouring devil whose sole aim is the absolute, deliberate, and decisive destruction of the children of God, we can be more than conquerors! [Rom 8:37]

Although failure-possibility exists, the true Christ-like life – the victorious life, the overcoming life, the growing life, the truly achieving Cristian life -- requires a daring based on conviction and courage to succeed. We need to succeed, spiritually. Therefore our hearts and minds –– after being granted the gift of repentance from sin and having been washed in the waters of baptism to receive the righteousness of Christ -- need to be bolstered by extra-ordinary, super-natural, meta-physical, Holy Spirit EMPOWERMENT from above, deposited in our soul-depths. That’s our assurance, our certainty, our victory base.

Paul explains this to us through this same supernatural, omnipotent, spiritual power from the Eternal Godhead as follows:

Rom 5:3 “And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation works patience; 4 and patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us. 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for [us] the ungodly.” This is a process unto salvation which will imbue us with supernatural power for overcoming, growing, and maturing in love; to live a life matching the eternal responsibilities awaiting us.

True, brave and courageous Christ-followers are destined to be the empowered vanguard of a new society; the cultural, ethical, spiritual, and socio-economic transformationalists under the loving leadership, wise direction, and safe, secure, strong and stable ruling policies of Christ.

2 Cor 1:21 “Now he which stablishes [firmly secure] us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest [advanced down payment as security of the promised hope] of the Spirit in our hearts.”

When we have successfully run our individual race, conquered our fears through Christ, and subdued our vile, scandalous natures by the sacred spirit, we shall finally be “clothed upon” with something that defies human, scientific, or philosophic comprehension, or explanation.

2 Cor 5:1 “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.”

At Christian Commentator we undertake with biblical and spirit-filled integrity to assist all our readers to achieve that “self-same thing” by the overcoming grace granted by the Eternal Father, the overwhelming power SUPPORT of the Holy Spirit, AND THE DAILY, DELIVERING INTERCESSION OF OUR SAVIOR MESSIAH before the Father's throne.
