Another Cleat in Cupid's Coffin
Cute Cupid! Wings a-flutter and restringing his bow for arrows to go a-flying. Preparing for the feast of fourteen februa. Feast of the flesh for depraved damsels and lustful lads.
Modern Valentine’s celebrations are tame in relation to its origin and the historic customs surrounding this pagan event. It came to us as the totally miss-named, misleading and misrepresentative day of sanctification, the supposed “feast of purification” purportedly in commemoration of a “saint”.
Whilst on the surface the cards expressing sweet poetic longings in metered rhyme or romantic prose, surrounded by red hearts and naughty naked cute Cupids, reflect “innocent” expressions of love, in certain circles the hidden lust-laden yearnings and hopeful secret expectations are still a burning flame inside the Valentinian hearts more than 2600 years after the first Valens conquered the hearts of the anticipating virgins.
Nothing about the day is PURE, saintly, virtuous, holy, godly, or righteous. The origins of Valentine’s Day is steeped in pagan ritual, bathed in the blood of sacrificed goats and dogs!
On this day, some 2600 years ago, and centuries afterwards, goats and dogs were sacrificed to a lecherous lust-laden pagan god. The blood of the sacrificed animals were smeared with the sacrificing knife on the foreheads of two priests called luperci while they engaged in obligatory fits of laughter.
The skins of the sacrificed goats were cut into strips or thongs called februa [from whence February] and the luperci ran naked around the old Palatine whacking semi-nude maidens with the bloody thongs. They believed the touch of the raw-hide thong would secure fertility.
The identity of the lewd-minded, lascivious-hearted, libidinous, lust-laden, vulgar philosopher-priest who dreamt up this vile perversion has been lost in the murky annals of sinister and black historic paganism. Yet, its spirit of fornicating lust finds its essence within the perverse spirit of Babylon, going back 4,300 years to Nimrod and Semiramis.
After the naked running ritual and senseless sacerdotal sensuality, the unbetrothed in town, dripping with wanton rapacious lust, drew partners by lottery for the coming year. If they wished to separate with the onset of the following season they re-engaged in the immoral and shameless ritual all over again!
The fable, forged by the daughter of Babylon, the church of Rome, still persists that February 14 commemorates the martyrdom of a priest and/or a bishop, both bearing the same name, Valentine. However, the 1971 Edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica states, “St Valentine’s day as a lovers’ festival … has no relation to the saint[s] …” the Valentine’s customs “seem rather to be connected … with the pagan Roman festival of the Lupercalia which took place in the middle of February …” [Article: Valentine, Saint.]
From the same source we learn that the Lupercalia was an ancient Roman feast instituted by either Evander, or the legendary founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus.
Lupercus means the “wolf hunter” and the Romans set aside "Lupercalia Day" to honor him as the “great hunter”, or as identified in scripture as the “mighty hunter”, Nimrod [Gen 10:9-10]. Among the gentile nations he was known by various names but in Scripture he is primarily identified as Ba’al.
The Latin root of the name Valentinus is “valens” which means mighty, powerful, strong. This was the prime characteristic of Nimrod who by force of his strength became the first world ruler or despot-king. Valentine’s Day honors this MERCILESS despot-king.
The cute Cupid boy-god so prominently featured on St Valentine’s cards is none other than the chief god of the pagan nations in various guises and names, i.e. Ninus, Osiris, Orion, the Black Phaethon, Mars, Bacchus, Adonis, and Tammuz, to name but a few.
As stated before, priests, called luperci, officiated at the ceremonies. And, continues another source: “Lupercalia was a bloody, violent and sexually-charged celebration awash with animal sacrifice, random matchmaking and coupling in the hopes of warding off evil spirits and infertility.”
This debauched pagan “flesh festival” prevailed in Rome until 494 AD when Pope Galasius I changed the name of the day to the “Feast of Purification!” The pope sanitized, sanctified and glorified this pagan day just as Rome did with Sun-day, Easter [Ishtar’s day, SEMIRAMIS, the female version of Cupid/Tammuz] and “Christ”-mas, the annual rebirth of the sun-god.
What satirical mockery! Can anything so sensually loathsome be turned into something spiritually pure? But then, popes have divine authority, granted to them—by themselves!
The Anglican priest, Alexander Hislop, in his classic, The Two Babylons, inform us that the first winged god was the son of Venus [Semiramis], otherwise known as the winged boy-god Cupid! [Seventh American Printing, 1956, p40.]
From ancient historic sources we discover that this boy was none other than Nimrod, the illegitimate son of Semiramis who, when she looked upon him as a little boy, desired or lusted after him and then engaged in an incestuous marriage with him. Cupid, meaning “desire”, eventually became the husband of his mother. They were the original Madonna and child.
As is the case still today—human nature not having changed at all over millennia—women love to be linked to champions, powerful men, rich men, rulers. Nimrod—Cupid, Tammuz, Adonis—was a “mighty” man, a deliverer of the people, a city builder, Babel being his first city-kingdom [Gen 10:10]. He became a darling of women—the “desire” [Cupid, or Tammuz] of women.
Ezekiel 8:14 tells us that the idolatrous women in Judah were “weeping for Tammuz”. Instead of weeping for their sins these women were weeping for their idol, Tammuz. In June Tammuz “disappeared” and the women of Byblos in “wild grief tore off their hair and yielded their persons to prostitution, consecrating the hire of their infamy to Venus” [JFB]. In honor of this gentile idol the Jews named the coinciding month in their calendar after this pagan idol, Tammuz!
Thus, not only the paganized “Christian” Church of Rome, but also the Jewish religion adopted, respectively, a day and a month in honor of the Babylonian satanic religious festival dedicated to “the image of jealousy”. In this case, the veneration of Cupid or Tammuz linguistically transferred to Latin “Valens” or Valentino, and eventually St. Valentine’s Day.
Daniel refers to the “desire of women” [11:37]; and due to the jealousy evoked he was also known as “the image of jealousy” [Ezek 8:5].
Anciently these champions were mystically transformed into “gods” by the credulous crowds. [This pagan custom still prevailed during the time of the Roman Empire when the Caesars were declared “gods”.]
Given this background and the fact that the festival of Lupercalia was “sanctified” and incorporated into the Roman Catholic calendar only in 494AD---four centuries after the death of the last apostle!---it begs the question whether any follower of Christ should even remotely contemplate participating in such a heinous, degrading, fornicating farce and God-less religious disgrace!
No card with red hearts [representative of the blood of the sacrificed goats and dogs!] should be glossed by the name of a true follower of Christ!
Let me ask you: Who is your "valens", your strong man, your champion, your hero? Who makes your heart throb with joy? Let it never be the profane chubby Cupid which is the satanic counterfeit Christ-child foisted upon a supercilious and superstitious society! Let your true valens be the real child from heaven instead of the bastard Ba’al boy conceived by a priestess-whore and presently still being paraded by churches on Christmas day as the fake “babe in the manger”. Such celebrations, surreptitiously sneaked into Churchianity and pretentiously proffered as something “holy, just and good” is part of the grandiose scheme Satan devised as something to keep the unsanctified unsanctified still and the impure impure still. [Cf. Rev. 22:11.] This Ba’al-boy can no more purify any person than the dog’s blood smeared upon the heads of the laughing luperci!
Purification of mankind—your personal purification—comes from only one blood source—that is, from the Son of Man, Yeshua the Messiah. Celebrate his sacrifice, not on February 14 but on Nisan 14. Celebrate his love that leads to true purity. Celebrate his resurrection. Celebrate his victory over death as the valens—the eternal celestial strong man. Celebrate his death and resurrected life so you may have life eternal!
Hebrews 9:12
Neither by the blood of goats and calves,
but by his own blood
he entered in once into the holy place,
having obtained eternal redemption for us.
